[ Oh if only North could hear the laugh she gives at that comment about heroes. ]
I do know how heroes are. We are a great mess.
There are many people from where I am that have those beliefs as well. Leave it to humans to create life and then leave them to rot. It's why my world is at war too. I do not see you as faulty equipment and will never treat you as such. You and Connor are my patients and that is all there is to it. No better or worse than anyone else I care for.
I was going to suggest I draw some of yours actually to protect your supply while I figure out how to create it.
Well, I can make time whenever you've got it, Doctor.
[ She leaves the rest of that uncommented upon; it's just--too big, for such a simple statement. Too much to try to take on with the inadequacy of language. Markus has always understood her silences for what they were, and let them be out of kindness; maybe Angela will too. ]
There's one other thing. A pretty big ask. Some biocomponents we can get by if they break, but damaging certain others will kill us in seconds, and all the thirium you could get your hands on wouldn't make a difference. I don't love the idea of letting anyone open up my chest to look inside, but if it means saving one of us I'll get over it.
I can see you as early as tomorrow afternoon, which allows me time to set up. [ Angela doesn't press further as there feels no need to push anything else.
The other part doesn't phase her either, she has worked on many different types of bodies and has no fear about it. She also understands the fear around surgery. ]
I can't imagine anyone loving the idea of being cut open like that. It's the most vulnerable position anyone can be in. I assure you though that I am considered one of the most skilled surgeons in the world I come from and I have a large well of knowledge on what to do with a variety of bodies.
It's not the surgery part that's the issue. I can show you what panel to pop off so there's no cutting required. The issue is that if you take my thirium pump out for longer than about a minute and a half, I'll go into shut down mode. Not exactly my preference, but I can't see any other way you're going to be able to examine it closely enough to get an idea of how it works.
Well, in the past when I have dealt with keeping bodies both human and android alive, I have used a system that artificially keeps the body alive while I work. Though my technology is not here, I should be able to use the tech that is to fashion the same kind of system. I can fuel it with my staff that is fill with nanorobotics. It would be like keeping you on life support basically. It does not come without it's risks, but I have done it many times.
We don't have that kind of technology so I can't say for sure, but it sounds better than being completely fucked otherwise.
I want Connor to be there, if that's possible. I don't have any other conditions.
[ PS North doesn't hold not immediately realizing she would have like, removable panels against Angela; they are, after all, designed to mimic humans so closely those factors can be a little jarring. ]
Oh, before you go. I may ask someone else to assist me. She is extremely supportive of A.I. so she will only have your best interest at heart and she knows my method of surgery.
[ North thinks asking this is kind of extraneous; it's either this or buy thirium with AC points or no option at all. And yet it's exactly the kind of thing Markus would ask anyway, so Angela continues to remind her of him, in all his patience and reassurance and actually caring how she felt about things. She can't decide if thinking about him hurts or not. ]
Go ahead. You can ask twenty other people if that means it works.
[ ...please don't actually ask twenty other people. ]
a second later, belatedly

I'm more than open to suggestions.

Ahh yes, of course.

Does that sound like a plausible suggestion?
